A little reading....a little listening

Do you feel overwhelmed like me? Do you feel like the work is never done? This mom thing isn't easy and nobody has it all together no matter how it might look from the outside.

-Laura over at Heavenly Homemakers has an uplifting article about REAL MOMS. You should go read it {you will be glad you did} and then sign the list if you are one.

- I love this article from At the Well on the homekeeper's woes. It is a nice reminder.

-Over the weekend we had the privileged of taking the whole family to a concert by Down Here. Ever heard of them? They were just amazing! It was a really small venue {we got 3rd row...smile} and the whole concert was just a great reminder of what Christmas is all about and really helped me focus .

I know that I posted this last year, but there were only 2 of you reading at that point so I thought I would share it again. It is my most favorite Christmas song and it is just beautiful. It really focuses in on the true meaning of Christmas.....and the guy has got an amazing voice to boot!

How many Kings? by Down Here
Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe, after all we've projected,
A child in a manger?
Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mother's shawl -
Just a child -
Is this who we've waited for? 'cause...

How many kings step down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
And how many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

Bringing our gifts for the newborn Savior
All that we have, whether costly or meek
Because we believe.
Gold for his honor, and frankincense for his pleasure
And myrrh for the cross he will suffer
Do you believe?
Is this who we've waited for?

All for me...
All for you...

Too pooped to party!

We took the kids and went to a free concert last night.

Here is their latest song...very worth listening to, the lyrics are beautiful.

They were really great, unfortunately there were 3 bands that played before them so Josiah didn't quite make it that long.

{he's really not that pale....we do let him in the sun occasionally...promise :) }

When he was awake, he had a great time clapping and watching the lights swirl around on the ceiling.

My Weekend & my 1 year blogiversary & my 250th post

********Looking for the apron giveaway??***********

{leave a comment at the end of this post to be entered}

I apologize now if this is just way too long!{keep going it will be worth it}

Like I said before, my hubby and I escaped took a little road trip to Oklahoma last Friday to see one of our favorite couples. It was a real treat to go without the kids {thanks to my parents}. Jarod and Laura {our friends} showed us around their new church and then we went out to dinner at a fancy Mexican restaurant....yum.

After dinner we went downtown to the Cain's ballroom in Tulsa to go see the David Crowder band. SO MUCH FUN!! Standing room only, small ballroom and no more than 500 people makes for a great concert and worship experience. It was probably one of the best concerts I've been to. Here is a short take, sorry it got cut off.

Here are the men before the concert {mine's on the right}

On Saturday morning Jarod's worship band played at the Tulsa run so we were glad to get to see him play.

We had to leave right after the run was over so we could get back in time for Halloween.

Just in time.

We got the kids from my parent's house, took them home to get on costumes and then hit the trick or treat circuit. We ended up back at my parent's house for some dinner {thanks mom} and just hang out for a little while and let the kids count their loot.

This is Josiah after EACH piece of candy he received. Not kidding...he was giddy with each and every piece.

Josiah found his buddy Woody and a blurry horse too.

I need a savior.....so do you!

I am absolutely in ♥ with this song lately! I speaks such truth, that we ALL need a savior. Hope you enjoy.

I Need a Savior- Among the thirsty
How many names can I use to explain the love of my Jesus
the life that he gave and so many times will I praise you today. I lift up my life cause you're always the same
And my offering to you I bring Your name is Jesus.
Your name is Jesus.
You're the Wonderful,
Counselor, my Friend.
You're what I hold on to;
I know that you brought me through All the days of loss, to the cross you knew I'd need a Savior.
How many songs can I sing to proclaim your wondrous love and beauty so great?
What would I say if you brought down the rain and everyday I walk through the pain my heart would still say.
Your name is Jesus.
Your name is Jesus.
You're the Wonderful, Counselor, my Friend.
You're what I hold on to;
I know that you brought me through
All the days of loss, to the cross you knew I'd need a Savior.
You're what I hold on to; I know that you brought me through
All the days of loss, to the cross you knew I'd need a Savior.
I'd need a Savior I need you, Savior

How He Loves

This is a must listen....absolutely beautiful.
To think my Lord is jealous for ME, wow!
How He Loves- Written by John Mark McMillan
He is jealous for me
Loves like a hurricane,
I am a tree Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy
When all of a sudden I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory And I realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me
Oh, how He loves us, oh
Oh, how He loves us
How He loves us, oh
And we are His portion and He is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes
If His grace is an ocean, we're all sinking
And Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest
I don't have time to maintain these regrets
When I think about the way
Oh, how He loves us, oh
Oh, how He loves us
How He loves us, oh,
how He loves Yeah He loves us
Oh, how He loves us
Oh, how He loves us
Oh, how He loves
Oh, what love Yeah,
He loves us Yeah,
He loves us
How He loves us
Oh, how He loves us

I Know You're There

I have loved this song from Casting Crowns from the first time I heard it. The lyrics are so comforting and true.
If all I had was one last breath I'd spend it just to sing Your praise Just to say Your name If all I had was one last prayer I'd pray it 'cause I know You're always listening If I could live a thousand lives, bind the hands of time I would spend every moment by Your side 'cause I, I know You're there, I know You see me You're the air I breathe You are the ground beneath me I know You're there, I know You hear me I can find You anywhere If all I had was one more song to sing I would raise a noise to make the heavens ring If all I had was one last chance, I'd take it I would stake it all on You If I could raise up high and catch a glimpse of every eye I would make them believe What I feel inside If I could live a thousand lives and bind the hands of time If I could rise up high and catch a glimpse of every eye I know You're there I know You're there I know You're there, You're there

Everything Glorious

The day is brighter here with You

The night is lighter than its hue

Would lead me to believe

Which leads me to believe

You make everything glorious

You make everything glorious

You make everything glorious

And I am Yours

What does that make me?

My eyes are small but they have seen

The beauty of enormous things

Which leads me to believe

There's light enough to see that

From glory to glory

You are glorious

You are glorious

From glory to glory

You are glorious

You are glorious

Which leads me to believe

Why I can believe

Everything Glorious by the David Crowder Band

Divine Romance

Phil Wickham's Divine Romance For You I sing I dance Rejoice in this divine romance Lift my heart and my hands To show my love, to show my love I have been quite taken with this song since the first time I heard it. It just says everything I feel, but struggle to put into words. I feel like there is really nothing sweeter than a song that leads you to a true state of worship.
